Definition

What the ballot does

This document serves as a secret ballot, allowing a unit owner to vote in an election. Each ballot includes the meeting date, time, poll closing deadline, quorum requirements, location, voting instructions, passing requirements (if specified in governing documents), and ballot measures with directions and choices. To ensure confidentiality, the completed ballot is placed inside an inner envelope, which is then sealed within a pre-addressed outer envelope. If issued by Condo Elects, this outer envelope also includes the unit address and identifier for the owner's convenience. For the ballot to be valid, the owner must write their name and sign the envelope, and the first ballot received is irrevocable. Condo Elects distributes ballots at least 32 days before the election, and they must be received by the poll closing deadline, though this deadline may be extended if the meeting is adjourned.
